Today we honour our celebrated Métis leader, Louis Riel. On the anniversary of his execution on November 16, 1885, we are reminded of the strength of our ancestors and the importance of always advocating for the recognition of Métis culture and our right to self-determination.

We have developed a toolkit to empower Indigenous women on reproductive rights. It provides comprehensive information about sexual and reproductive health. This toolkit can help prevent the forced and coerced sterilization of Indigenous women which is a violation of human rights.

Each year on November 16, we recognize #LouisRielDay. Louis Riel was a political leader, the founder of Manitoba, and an advocate for #Métis people. On the 138th anniversary of his execution, we’re honouring Riel’s contributions and legacy in promoting Métis rights and culture.
