Any other Jews with refugee grandparents from Eastern Europe sitting here like, wait, we already did this? By we, I mean humanity. Have people learned nothing in the past 100 years, or is history just an endless cycle? Power, empire, tragic losses. Power, empire, tragic losses.

My grandfather, a man of foresight, fled Prague in 1939 after a guy at the gas station called him a "Dirty Jew." Yesterday in Prague, millions gathered to listen to a Jewish guy protecting a small nation's right to freedom and self-identification. Feeling proud of my heritage! :)

Survivors of sexual abuse do not need to hide our faces in shame. I refuse to let my University or any institution of power shame me into silence or submission. There is tremendous power in survivors sharing our stories, in refusing to let our stories be discarded or disbelieved.
