Incredible news out of Des Moines today: With Gov. Kim Reynolds Reynolds’ signature, Iowa is now the 16th state to enact American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network-supported legislation to expand access to biomarker testing. This is a huge win for cancer patients!
We commend the United States Preventive Services Task Force for lowering the age to begin mammography screening to 40. However, the American Cancer Society Society does not support stopping screening for anyone with a 10+ year life expectancy irrespective of age.
Big mistake President Biden - you had all the information you needed to make the right decision and instead made the wrong one. Your decision sides with #BigTobacco and the outcome will be more addictions and lives lost, especially among #BlackAmericans . #ProhibitMenthol
Fantastic presentation from Susan Vadaparampil on reaching Spanish speaking populations to increase cancer screening.
As shown by American Cancer Society, cancer trends in this population are very different vs. general pop. We must modify our approach!

For our April Volunteer Spotlight, we’re highlighting McKayla McCullah, Vice State Lead Ambassador for ACS CAN Hawaii Pacific! With only a year at ACS CAN, she’s already made a big impact as a founding member of our new Indigenous Voices Volunteer Affinity Group. #NationalMinorityHealthMonth
As part of National Cancer Prevention and Early Detection Month, I encourage everyone to be an advocate for their own health!
The American Cancer Society Society provides resources to help you assess and reduce your cancer risk.
Devastated by the loss of Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr., a true champion for reducing the cancer burden through research, prevention, early detection and health equity. American Cancer Society Society and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network are deeply grateful for his commitment and support throughout his distinguished career.
I am incredibly grateful to our American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network volunteers for the work they do to ensure that cancer remains a national priority for our elected officials. Together, we will continue to support patient-first legislation and advance our mission. #VolunteerAppreciationWeek
A big THANK YOU and KUDOS to our outstanding American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network volunteer network. You make our work for patients, survivors and their loved ones across the country so IMPACTFUL! We appreciate each of YOU!
Volunteers are the backbone of the American Cancer Society Society, and I am so grateful for the work they do to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families.
While they deserve to be celebrated all year, I am excited to recognize our volunteers this #NationalVolunteerWeek !
