Have just been watching Sky at Night for the first time in ages, mostly to see Mars updates. But what seemed so weird was the ‘I’d love to go to Mars’ chat. Is this why kids are distancing from wildlife? So they can go to Mars without missing green and biodiversity?

It’s bewildering that there’s even fake news in ecology. Natural plants, strange to relate, grow naturally. They do not need planting!! They need an environment that sustains their ability to grow, which almost always means no soil treatment + only occasional mowing to stop scrub
