This week on #findsfriday a post-Medieval silver gilt jewellery fitting or devotional object, comprising two gilded and modified half-groats of Henry VIII.

The edges of the two coins are folded together to create a hollow lozenge form bead.

Amgueddfa Lechi Cymru | National Slate Museum This slate demonstration shows how finely Welsh slate can be cut - to less than 5mm. Apprentices would have started training at 12 and studied these techniques for 5 years, though sadly most miners did not live to 50 due to the deadly slate dust.

Had a magical journey through Shropshire and along the north Wales coast at sunset last night, culminating in this view at Bangor. Was surprised to see so much snow!

Jealous of those who saw #totality yesterday! Was lucky enough to see the 2017 #eclipse and was blown away. (See here). For me, #totality is the thing which is so awe-inspiring. Plans to view yesterday’s eclipse sadly had to change….. where’s to Iceland (or Spain) in 2026!
