After their dig, the Cunningtons marked the position of the central grave at #Woodhenge with a flint cairn. This interpretation feature is now the best part of 100 years old & usually attracts offerings, as here at 04.58am on 23rd June 2015. #Archaeology #Neolithic #Burial
This week on #findsfriday a post-Medieval silver gilt jewellery fitting or devotional object, comprising two gilded and modified half-groats of Henry VIII.
The edges of the two coins are folded together to create a hollow lozenge form bead.

Amgueddfa Lechi Cymru | National Slate Museum This slate demonstration shows how finely Welsh slate can be cut - to less than 5mm. Apprentices would have started training at 12 and studied these techniques for 5 years, though sadly most miners did not live to 50 due to the deadly slate dust.
