This week, we had the honour of joining other UN agencies in #PapuaNewGuinea🇵🇬 in hosting a training titled “Verified Facts” for over 25 local journalists. The 2-day training focused on issues such as #GenderResponsive journalism, #Disinformation, #HateSpeech & #DataLiteracy.

Moreover, UNDP Chief Technical Advisor on Anti-Corruption, Dr. AlmaSedlar, delivered a presentation on the importance of investigative journalism and the role of journalists in investigating and exposing #corruption at different levels of society.

Under the leadership of UN Resident Coordinator @HowardUNPNG and the UN Country Team, United Nations in Papua New Guinea completed a 2-day media workshop for editorial staff in Papua New Guinea. Theme for the training was on "Verified Fact" as a means to combating mis/disinformation and hate speech.
