New literature review (doi.org/10.1177/074193…) of findings across 15 studies analyzing administrative data including using quasi-experimental methods reports overall positive effects associated with receiving special education services. #disabilities #Schools

Thanks to Jill Barshay for writing about our work on special education teacher bonuses in Hawai`i. This fact is correct (see left figure), but focusing on the causal estimates on the right, the policy did reduce special education vacancies RELATIVE TO general education vacancies.
