If there’s one thing everyone can derive from the WBC it’s that baseball culture in the US should loosen up a bit. These Latin American teams are having so much more fun. The “I just worked 16 hours in the mines” vibe from USA baseball is so tired. We should be more fun here.

The WBC is only 7 games. If you're taking it seriously, you play your A lineup in every single one. If elite players like Judge and Witt are going to make the sacrifice to play, Team USA needs to be managed in a way that justifies that.

This applies to everything now. Music, film, TV, sports. The gravitas is gone. And it’s not because the talent is lesser. Media is fragmented, and so, we rarely have shared moments — which create that feeling. Instead, everyone just exists in their own algorithmic feed.

This has been made commonplace in the US. Not just from every day people, but the people who are supposed to represent and lead our country. Be better.

It’s difficult to watch those “What were the 90s like” videos. It’s not the nostalgia that hits a nerve. It’s mourning a world that is gone forever.
