I remember being told by a PO that they couldn’t guarantee that Katie wouldn’t get “battered”. When I asked by who, the answer was a shrug of the shoulders. Perhaps this is what was meant.

I can’t imagine what the families and loved ones of those in Polmont YOI are feeling just now, especially those of the children there. I hope they are getting support.

Their daughter, Linda, a Scottish charity worker, was kidnapped by the Taliban & killed during a botched rescue attempt by US special forces in 2010. What an incredible achievement.
