It seems to be a day of autism and ADHD reporting, here's the guardian on the 'sudden' rise of AuDHD, sudden as it is being paid attention to now, but it's actually always been there, people just weren't looking in the right direction/connecting the dots.

Another amendment states that...In the event of a future formal ballot as part of this campaign the demands would be:
a. For a 10% or £3000 pay rise, whichever is higher
b. For the executive to agree illustrative examples of how additional funding would impact on our workplaces

A further amendment (there are 7) calls for a commitment to a formal ballot if the STRB recommendation is not above inflation, if...

a. The STRB recc is not above inflation
b. The recc is not fully funded
c. The Government does not honour the above points

Another amendment calls on the union to 'intensify campaigning and mobilising' before the 2024-25 pay offer is revealed and then 'present the pay and funding offer to members in a snap poll, and if rejected with a convincing turnout, move to a formal ballot'

Update: Amendments to the motion have been tabled, including one that calls on the union's executive to 'launch, no later than the first week in June, a national strike ballot on funding and pay, to close before the end of September'

We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out where National Education Union conference will land on the idea of a formal strike ballot

But Daniel Kebede believes if one is called-for, the union should take its time and ‘look to take action in September’

These results are reminiscent of The Centre for Education and Youth's survey with National Foundation for Educational Research last year, which found 2/3 school leaders said Department for Education had too much power over decision-making in their school. In a new National Education Union survey, just 3% of teachers believe that Ofsted is a reliable and trusted arbiter of standards.

Ofsted is not fit for purpose and we do not accept that Ofsted has the capability to make fair and accurate judgement of schools.
