It is important that educators, especially ones who teach Arab and/or Jewish students, learn more about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This is something that directly affects our students.

"If you don't want to teach, don't teach. Quit." - JoeNBC - Teachers want to teach. - Teachers are getting sick. - There are not enough subs. - Teachers who aren't getting sick are now expected to cover for the teachers who are. - Then those teachers get sick or leave.

Until I became a science teacher, I never fully understood how much work and care my teachers put into setting up the cool labs and activities we did. Just spent some time making gels and pipetting DNA samples—I’m excited to do some biotech labs this week with my students!!

So proud of my honors bio 9th graders. We just genetically engineered E. coli using CRISPR-Cas9. This was my first time doing this lab, and they were able to follow a complex protocol to knock out the lacZ gene which makes the bacterial colonies appear white instead of blue. 🤩
