It’s been very excellent to just be playing bass clarinet with others, removing a lot of the technology that I have tended to tether into my acoustic playing for over a decade, and have some exciting recordings that I’m making with John Melillo that I can’t wait to share
I also very much enjoyed the March Second Chanceness 2025 piece by John Melillo on the Faint, which... y'know, kind of sums it up, right? "Ladies" was a tough Round 1 draw, but however this goes we'll have John's essay as a navigational aide for the rest of March. Don't miss it!
Shout out to today's defeated: Kyle Simonsen, John Melillo, ontological flop wrote a book, and a beast of an essay by Megan Culhane Galbraith. You showed up. You took your shots. No shame in a loss here when you wrote the way you did. Well done. We salute you:
Excerpt from my score Fog Khora No 02 that I wrote specifically for this arrangement between myself, Andrew Weathers, Chelsey Trejo, and John Melillo, thanks to my pal and bandmate Beck for filming this at my feet 🦶
So excited that the Golden Saguaro crew here in Tucson is hosting marcissistdaticket tonight to discuss cassette culture and tape history! 7 pm tonight if you are in town!
Read/Listen/Vote. Definitely synced in with Ander Monson 's Q: "How can I transform my anger into joy"? We are all/have to be angry because we know there is joy, some other-than-this, possible. Art = little glimpses of and gigantic feelings for other-than-this-es...
My favorite panel this year so far! We're excitedly "assembling" sounds this week! #acla2024 John Melillo Sounding Out! (we're done here folks, it's awful)
I’m really not on here much anymore but I started co-running a new experimental venue with my great friend John Melillo called Wave Archive, our inaugural event is one week from today here in downtown Tucson with Asheville based Okapi
