Transfer deadline day! disappointing on sales, no one wants to buy my rubbish players but I ship a few out on loan. exciting signings, Theo joins from R. Madrid, Slimane comes in on loan from Sheff Utd, and when Luton terminated Onyedimna’s contract, I beat Norwich to sign him!

1st home game - v Leicester. Playing defensive 433 again, Vardy put Foxes one up early on but held nerve and stuck with plan. Burgzorg got gunlikely equaliser & could have won it in 2nd half but in truth we were hanging on most of the game. 1-1 is an awesome result #FM24

Carabao Cup time - at home against League One Bolton. Used my more expansive 4-3-3 with attacking Mezzalas in the centre whilst the wide players stay wide. A win, but not a convincing performance against a team one division below. And we’ve got Leicester coming on Saturday. #FM24

First game of the season, away to Plymouth. We are awful. Play a defensive 4-3-3 looking to hit them on break, we cling to 0-0 for 50 mins before conceding. I go more offensive they score 2 more. Late consolation can’t hide that we 2nd best in every respect. Much to ponder #FM24

Bringing players in means letting players go- and I want to let lots of players go - not all that many takers so some have gone on loan to save me their wages. No takers at all for Ben Wiles or Tom Lees, who were frankly awful in the pre season friendlies (Lees especially) #FM24

Summer transfers. Trying to strengthen squad with 0 surplus cash. In > fullback Danny Rose & 🇧🇷 midfield maestro Mattheus Rossetto on free transfers (as we say in Yorkshire, for nowt). Two exciting loan signings - Debast from Anderlecht and Knighf from Mam City>c’mon Terriers!

Pre-season tour to Netherlands a mixed bag. Our squad is not the best, so playing a cautious 4-3-3 and trying to hit teams on the break with two best players, Rudoni and Thomas. I tried a 3-5-2 against Almere and…well…never again. Then back in our 4-3-3 we beat Ajax #FM24
