New Human Rights Watch and The Independent research shows that Israeli forces have killed and injured dozens of aid workers.

Despite sharing coordinates with Israeli forces, our team were targeted by military airstrikes.

Those responsible must be held accountable.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. Good mental health is vital for each & every one of us, and we all must pay attention to our mental health & wellbeing. We must continue to support people struggling with mental health issues & to remember support is always available.

I welcome the announcement by Scottish Government to extend the peak rail fare suspension until September & will work with them & rail unions to make this change permanent. We now need similar bold action working with local authorities to fix bus services across the country.

Our Government must do more than issue yet more hollow statements if it is to help prevent what would be an unimaginable bloodbath in Rafah.

It must act. Starting by ending arms sales to Israel.

These arms sales mean our Government is directly complicit in Israel's war crimes.

Immediate impact of Israeli military taking control of the #Gaza side of #Rafah crossing:
❌ Desperately needed aid cannot enter Gaza - we have 16 Medical Aid for Palestinians trucks in the queue
❌ Medical evacuations cannot take place
❌ Aid workers (inc doctors) cannot get in or out of Gaza

The failure to deliver adequate local health centres can’t be allowed to continue. We need Scottish Government to honour the promise it made to the people of Kincardine & Lochgelly to replace their health centres with new buildings able to deliver the local health services required 👇

Now the dust is settling on the elections, the urgent focus has to be on preventing Netanyahu’s threatened attack on Rafah & the prospect of the devastating massacre of civilians this would result in. We need our political leaders to demand a peace deal & a permanent ceasefire.

Suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under 50. In Scottish Parliament organisations including Samaritans Scotland came together to highlight what support is available. I thank them all for the work they do. No one should feel ashamed for reaching out - support is always available.

Our islands are being badly let down by a failure to renew the ageing ferry fleet in Scotland. Scottish Government should have had a rolling programme in place for the renewal of the fleet & Scottish Labour is pushing to ensure that rolling programme is put in place. See my question here 👇

More than 1 million people fled to #Rafah at the direction of the Israeli military. I saw the overcrowding there for myself recently when in #Gaza .
They moved in search of safety - but there is nowhere safe.
An assault on Rafah would be an untold disaster.
It must be stopped.
