pandora's box has been opened and the fed either needs to cut rates to re-steepen the yield curve or needs to backstop ALL deposits regardless of size and support banks through that process.

I think the latter happens first but seems the former will need to eventually too

I’ve found there are two problems with the classic 6% compound interest story.

1. It’s 6% on average over all time ie. over the next 20 years, 6% isnt garunteed, market could stay flat (eg Japan)

2. Utility of money falls as you age. $1m at 20yo > $1Bn at 80yo
