Excited to share that our newest paper investigating the impact of #focusedultrasound on glioma-derived extracellular vesicles is out now in Theranostics Theranostics! Very proud of the work that we did with my former undergrad mentee Alec Batts, now a PhD student Konofagou Lab at Columbia University!

Led by Natasha Sheybani, PhD and @TIU_Aly, we show that myeloreductive chemo with #focusedultrasound controls #breastcancer immunologically. #clinicaltrial pending. I always tell people that International Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound meetings are like one big family reunion and #ISTU2022 was a marvelous one. Great to reconnect with old friends & share in the exciting advancements being made in our field! Special thanks to Acoustical Society of America for the Early Career Travel Award!

A rewarding #ISTU2022 to say the least. Happy to spend my first in-person conference in 3 years with my Konofagou Lab at Columbia University labmates, and to catch up with my former mentors Price Lab @ University of Virginia Natasha Sheybani, PhD. Excited for the next one!

Interested in clinical applications of chemogenetics? This afternoon I'm co-chairing a panel with Eric Hollander: Alec Batts Konofagou Lab at Columbia University on ultrasound AAV delivery, mike michaelides and myself on chemogenetics for addiction, and Adriana Galvan on primate chemogenetics! #ACNP2022

Had a wonderful first #ACNP2022 experience presenting alongside and learning from Luke Sjulson, mike michaelides, and Adriana Galvan. I was thrilled to share some new innovations in focused ultrasound technology with the neuropsychopharmacology community!

Excited to share our new CRISPR work. Here we demonstrate the feasibility of using FUS for effective brain gene editing through iv: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Thanks Robin Ji, folks in The Leong Lab, Konofagou Lab at Columbia University, Tomer Lab Columbia Biological Sciences, Murray Lab The Jackson Laboratory& Somatic Cell Genome Editing (SCGE) Outreach

Excited to share our latest paper evaluating multi-target AAV delivery efficacy and safety using ultra-short pulses for blood-brain barrier opening and monitoring, all within a single diagnostic ultrasound transducer. Out now in Theranostics! Theranostics thno.org/v13p1180.htm

I am extremely honoured to receive the AIUM Ultrasound New Investigator Award at #Ultracon2023 for our work on "Electromechanical Wave Imaging for mitral valve disease characterization in the clinic" with Alexandra Channing at Konofagou Lab at Columbia University Columbia BME !!

Congrats to Dr. Alec Batts for successfully defending his thesis, “Development and optimization of image-guided transcranial gene delivery to the brain with focused and theranostic ultrasound”! Absolutely splendid work, we are so proud you! Alec Batts 🦇🧠🎉🎊

Delicious hotpot in Taipei with Konofagou Lab at Columbia University, Antonios Pouliopoulos and Sua Bae 😊 #ISTU2024 #FocusedUltrasound

Join us in congratulating our very own, Dr. Elisa Konofagou, for receiving the Focused Ultrasound Foundation Visionary Award at #ISTU2024 ! 🎉🙌👏 Focused Ultrasound Foundation

On Monday Sept 23rd, Dr. Konofagou will kick things off with a plenary talk on ultrasound and the applications in the brain! Alec Batts will also showcase his work in the Student Award Competition! #UFFCJS2024 👏

Fantastic plenary talk on Brain Therapy with Focused Ultrasound given by Prof Elisa Konofagou at this year’s IEEE UFFC 2024 conference in Taipei #UFFCJS2024 #IEEE Konofagou Lab at Columbia University Focused Ultrasound Foundation @ieee_uffc_js IEEE UFFC Society

Congrats to our very own Alec Batts for winning the IUS Group 1 Student Poster Competition Award! We are so proud of you, job well done! 🧠🎉🙌 #UFFCJS2024

Congrats to Sergio Sergio Jiménez and the UEIL BBB team on their paper, “Feasibility of Hologram-Assisted Bilateral Blood-Brain Barrier Opening in Non-Human Primates” being selected as Front Cover of IEEE-TUFFC! ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10654…
