It is with deep regrets that I share the loss of a childhood friend, Jose Rivera. Jose was a big brother, an activist, a leader who never accepted no for an answer. Rest In Peace !

It is with deep regret to share with you the loss of a remarkable person. Lady’s and gentlemen, this was the “true grit” of American elected officials. My condolences to the McCain family and the U S Senate. RIP.....

As Chairman of Public Safety, I believe in protests and demonstrations, as long as we address it in a responsible manner. I have confidence in the Superintendent & the members of the Chicago Police Dept. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Chicago.

My thoughts and prayers go to the victims of yet, another senseless act. We lost a Doctor, a Pharmacist and a Chicago Police Officer, who just completed his probationary period. God Bless their family. God Bless all First Responders.

As a City Council member, I feel for our 1st Responders dealing with this madness. It is important that if you see something, say something. Please stay at home as much as possible. Our Police are on stand by, as we speak. Please keep them in our prayers.

As an elected official, I truly believe that Congressman, and Civil Rights leader John Lewis, commanded widespread leadership and respect. Im also confident that today’s protestors, will follow his leadership and proceed in a more passionate and respectful manner. “RIP Leader”

Today I had the distinct pleasure of attending the 57th Annual Police Recognition Ceremony. I’d like to personally thank each of the award recipients for always placing their lives in harms way. The good work you do is certainly appreciated by the community, and those affected.
