My 2018 Scholarship recipients in the 30th ward. Congratulations !

I want to congratulate the following 30th ward recipients of the “Posse Foundation” award. These students receive a four year, full tuition leadership scholarship, after undergoing an intensive 8 month program. Isabel Gaspar, Joseph Rivera, Diego Gomez, and Deryk Gonzalez.

It is with deep regrets that I share the loss of a childhood friend, Jose Rivera. Jose was a big brother, an activist, a leader who never accepted no for an answer. Rest In Peace !

It is with deep regret to share with you the loss of a remarkable person. Lady’s and gentlemen, this was the “true grit” of American elected officials. My condolences to the McCain family and the U S Senate. RIP.....

As a City Council member, I feel for our 1st Responders dealing with this madness. It is important that if you see something, say something. Please stay at home as much as possible. Our Police are on stand by, as we speak. Please keep them in our prayers.
