I am deeply saddened about the death of Police Officer Luis Huesca. He served our communities and was taken from us far too soon. We mourn his death deeply. May God rest his soul and comfort his family at this terrible time.

I got to know Karen Yarbrough through our work together at the Cook County Democratic Party. She was such a force of nature while demonstrating humbleness. I am saddened at news of her death and wish her family strength in this difficult time as we celebrate a life well lived!

The SW Side has long been a dumping ground for Chicago's industrial waste, including the Collateral Channel in Little Village. My constituents know its foul smell and the headaches and nausea it causes.

I led a letter supporting the U.S. EPA investigation into Channel pollution.

This means the referendum question on whether to allow the City Council to raise the city's real estate transfer tax on high-end properties to fund homelessness will be counted.

An appellate court has sided with the Chicago Board of Elections in the case against the Bring Chicago Home referendum. 'The judgment of the circuit court of Cook County is vacated and the case is remanded with instructions to dismiss the complaint for want of jurisdiction.'

Tom Skilling has had a sandwich named after him. His own bobblehead. His own beer. His own asteroid.

Perhaps most fittingly, Tom has his own city snowplow. Its name: 'Skilling It.'

A judge invalidated the Bring Chicago Home referendum Q today. She did not explain her rationale during the hearing; we don't have any orders in hand yet.
