That will be their job, but also to set out why they
consider that system to be best for UK.
Their report *could* also identify plan B for event
that their recommendation not accepted.
Yes, debate *then* should be about system.

> Ordinary public do not want constitutional upheaval.
=
Adoption of would not be major upheaval.
Introduction of in in is
exemplar of how it can be welcomed by public.

Pertinent point!
does use for proportion of seats.
Debate is around how FPTP imbalance is 'corrected'.
=
AMS means that filling non-constituency seats is in
total control of party elites. 'Ordinary public' would
perhaps prefer to control who represents them!

Paramount among such concerns should be issue if

This is about where we want to be in five years time.
Matthew is right to be concerned.

> Determined to do everything I can to make sure
> that Tories lose as many MPs as possible.
=
This attitude is likely to be counter-productive - if
those losses lead to Labour ! We cannot
trust majority Lab Govt to complete .
Below 290 is enough!!

Could Brexit be real benefit for ??

Brexit *could* work if UK were to rejoin and with
it .
=
However, member for opposes that and
he is leader of party without internal democracy as
to policy.

AV is fine in individual constituencies but its collective
effect can be horrendous.
51% of vote in 51% of seats could mean govt by 26%!
(OK in practice needs over 35% - still short of 50%)
=
AV has Key principle of
but cannot give it effective expression.

Written Constitution may be a 'nicety' in a world where 'my word is my bond' can be trusted but that age is behind us with 'winner taks all' more dominant. = PR (in form of ) is *essential* to well-being of UK residents - to prevent elective dictatorships as recently.

> There is no way to force Labour.
Of course - electoral arithmetic is supreme.
Labour should get relatively easy ride but public
support and will not be best pleased
if Labour oppose it in parlt (nor will Lab members
be very happy!).

Why should it be 'sure' that has lost her
UK passport? More likely is that she takes excellent
care of it for use when travelling - just as she does
with / for dealing with Spanish officialdom.
=
I still have my UK passport; now used as at
elections.

Rebecca is correct that is unlikely in hung parlt;
(this is / support).
That is not point; getting legislation through is vital - and
that might be more difficult if no deal on !

> In hung parlt, opposition parties will not cooperate.
=
They will not agree on everything - but finding allies in
right-wing parties unlikely.

Appt of and 'pencilling in 2027 for
ER legislation' not big ask for Labour to gain easier
ride for its priorities.

Still incapable on own of keeping down Lab total.

As progressive, should I offer to vote Cons as swap for
vote in seat where TF standing/
(eg in / )?
=
Interesting dilemma for pessimistic Tory in Epsom
disenchanted with trends within Tory party!
With what sort of seat would she/he be willing to swap?

Good thing about is that it is contract
between two independent people. It is not controlled
by parties or their elites - and does not rely on guess
as to behaviour of other electors.
=
Flaw is not knowing if vote *really* lent or would
occur anyway - .
