We started by educating students about AMR. We used illustrative cartoons and storytelling to explain and illustrate AMR emphasizing how WASH is key in the fight against AMR. We also used local languages like Lusoga spoken in Iganga and Mayuge, to help them understand more easily

3. Well, we are excited to announce that this is the second AMR club we launched; the Budhwege Primary School AMR (WASH) Club.We aim to develop students as WASH Champions and ambassadors in their communities, raising awareness about AMR and WASH. Marc Mendelson The Trinity Challenge

Thanks to the generous funding$ support from The Trinity Challenge we donated a 10,000L water tank to the school to strengthen the role of WASH in combating resistant microbes. It will provide a continuous supply of clean water highlighting handwashing as a frontline defense in IPC.

We had a night full of research and AMR talks at gulu university which attracted researchers, students, academia and policy makers. Involvement of youth in AMR research was emphasized as one way of combating AMR through influencing evidence based policy making.
