The Sudanese army frees civilian prisoners who were detained by the Rapid Support militia in the vicinity of the radio station in Omdurman. One of them said that he did not drink water for 5 consecutive days.

My relative, Rowya, was brutally abused and murdered a couple of weeks ago. She died after being horribly stabbed and shot at after a torture ordeal by the RSF. She died with her wounds alone in the hospital. Seeing her photo shared is upsetting.

Front-line pro-democracy ultra protesters, Ghadiboun, risked their lives and lost many to the brutal repression of the security forces since 2018. They joined the war against the janjaweed. For them, their enemy is the militia. They chant their anthems, denouncing military rule.

Hard to know which videos are genuine from #Sudan these days, but these tears of joy seem genuine upon realization that SAF has broken through in Omdurman. Time will tell if this reflects a tidal shift, but you certainly dont see this kind of reaction when the RSF comes to town.
