I'm finally playing through Hades after having started it in 2022. This time around I'm doing a detailed design analysis as I play.

We're putting a lot of effort into the narrative side of the game and I'm super excited about it :)

I don't know if this is the *right* way to do this, but I'm really proud of this little narrative workflow we're setting up for Whisker Squadron: Survivor. A spreadsheet for entering dialog lines with all the settings for how they're triggered:

This is why I'm afraid to add mod support for Whisker Squadron: Survivor. I think I'd have to hire someone just to take down all the Starfox mods 😂

There are going to be SO MANY new indie games from AAA devs if this goes through.

Hi, real character designer here.

Outside of the blatant theft happening here, what you don’t understand is how designing characters works.

You lack the foundational knowledge to know what is appealing and what isn’t.

Recently we were showcasing Whisker Squadron: Survivor locally, and a new player (who was doing pretty well) died 5 minutes into a run when they flew directly into a black hole. They looked at me, shocked. “I thought it was some kind of portal.”

My only thought was “yes, good.”

I used to think this old family recipe for Italian beef was really special, but the more I think I about it, I think it’s just the full tablespoon of salt that gives it that special flavor

And yes I cover it in feta, sorry grandma

The mission has always been to democratize access to information & opportunity for developers everywhere.

But that's not the only way devs around the world are disadvantaged by where they live: access to early-stage project funding is another.
