Time to shift the balance of power! Civil society, #IndigenousPeoples , local communities representing the Global South, must be central, not sidelined, in international processes. Their knowledge, perspectives & lived realities must be at the heart of #LossAndDamage actions.

Finance for #LossAndDamage is part of the #Reparations owed to the Global South. Finance instruments that further bury them in debt & schemes that perpetuate continuous extraction of #FossilFuels should be rejected.

Here's the morning session take-home message. Malawi is paying MK950 billion in debt servicing interest, which is 6 percent of the country's GDP and 35 percent of the budget. Only K231 billion for development. Malawi Economic Justice Network AFRODAD
