Christian courage requires us to speak truth when the world around us tells us to remain silent. It also requires us to offer grace even when the world around us tells us to withhold it.

I invite you to join me in praying for the life of #AmirLocke and for his family. How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I bear pain in my soul, and have sorrow in my heart all day long? (Psalm 13:1)

Society lifts up false narratives that trans people cannot be believed even about why they are using a bathroom. Similarly trans folk in leadership are falsely accused of having motives that seek to intentionally cause harm. These beliefs are gender-based violence.

We don’t build the kingdom of God. • we announce it. • we seek it. • we receive it. • we bear witness to it. • “we build for it” (N.T. Wright) God builds it.

We are all bound to each other, and peace is the work of all of us. War against one, is war against another.

Jesus, be near the frightened, the suffering, the fleeing, the hiding, the shivering, the aching, the bleeding & dying on this globe tonight. Send word of your mercy reaching them as we pray for your outstretched arm to save. Rush to aid. Be swift to Shield. Be made known, Jesus.

God did not need nor plan Jesus’s death. The cross isn’t about divine wrath; the cross is about human wrath and how the divine meets it with love.

On March 25 we commemorate the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade. We must learn more about the inhumane history of the transatlantic slave trade and examine the paths that will lead us towards racial healing and justice.

In the gospels you rarely see Jesus upset with "sinners." Rather, what you see is Jesus upset with people who don't think they are sinners. - Richard Rohr

Resist the idea that you must be extraordinary to be valued. You are enough just as you are. If a group expects perfection before you can participate, it is their bias not your abilities that are creating conflict.

Why are we killing each other? Why are we killing our children? Our country’s fabric is torn. Dear church now more than ever we must be a witness to the unity we have in Christ and the indisputable reality that we are members one of another.
