State revenue for last month came in above expectations -- but far lower than last year. Read more here: kac.org/may-revenue-co… #ksleg

Made my first trek into the office today in 4 months for a brief drop-off/pick-up of supplies, books, and misc. Finally got that brand new mayo that I had brought on March 1st that had been haunting me as unused.

If you are a parent or someone who works in a school (or anyone for that matter), share your thoughts with school board members and district staff. Your concerns and ideas are important right now as many decisions are being made at the local level.

From President John Wilson in today's Kansas Reflector || bsky @kansasreflector.com: Without a strong child care system, families and businesses can't make ends meet. During these challenging days, we all have to stand up for little kids. #ksleg kansasreflector.com/2020/07/28/kan…

The current #COVIDRelief plan leaves KS kids and families behind. We need federal funding that responds to the health and economic crises, improves access to care, and helps state govts. #FundMedicaid

Critical piece from Kansas Reflector || bsky @kansasreflector.com, with info from ITEP. "You don’t have to be an economist to understand that giving even more tax breaks to multinational companies" won't help pay for the services we all need. kansasreflector.com/2021/02/03/let… #ksleg

"Three weeks into the session, we can identify most lawmakers just by the sound of their voice. But it’s not just their words coming through loud and clear on the recently upgraded audio and video stream — it’s also their tone." More at cjonline.com/story/opinion/… #ksleg

SB 22 must be stopped. This mega tax bill is expensive and irresponsible. It's NOT the solution Kansans need as we face the COVID-19 health and economic crisis. #ksleg #kansas

Before committee begins, it’s important to note that ending the state sales tax on food has broad bipartisan support, and we’ve captured that in our letter to #ksleg leadership. You can view the letter and signers here: kac.org/coalition_lett…

House K-12 Budget starting now, and will have a hearing on HB 2662, which is similar to SB 496 (establishing the "parents' bill of rights") but more complicated. We will testify in opposition today. Our testimony here: kac.org/kac_opponent_t… youtube.com/watch?v=eHI7rb… #ksleg

KAC (@kansasaction) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Much like SB 496, we oppose it because it creates an adversarial environment for teachers & parents instead of building positive relationships between them. We believe that both of these bills ultimately hinder schools from being able to meet the needs of every child. #ksleg

House Health voted HB 2463 out of committee this evening, even though this risky KanCare bill had ZERO proponents. The bill states that there cannot be ANY “substantive or material” change to KanCare until 2025 without approval of every change by lawmakers. #ksleg must vote NO.
