#Northantsbirds Wish we could abolish this turning the clocks back malarkey; just enough time to have a look at Clifford Hill, and, if the Avocets weren't monochrome, then we wouldn't have seen them! And no hope of picking out a Knot or Brent Goose🤪

#Northantsbirds Stanwick up first today, Bearded Tits 'pinging' frequently, but had zero hopes of seeing them until they suddenly appeared in willows right in front of us! On to Whiston, just two brief and distant views of the ringtail Hen Harrier, plus Peregrine and 4 Stonechat.

#Northantsbirds Funny old game, I've found more decent passage waders in the last couple of weeks than I did all Spring, with Turnstone this evening at Summerleys joining Grey Plover and Wood Sand. No sign of the Glossy Ibis, but Dunlin, 6 Pintail (arse shot😉), 6 Gt Egret about.

Also at Summerleys, this Candlesnuff fungus is the first time I've knowingly seen it, probably just never paid enough attention before!

#Northantsbirds OK lovers of hybrid waterfowl, what do you make of this Goose accompanying Greylags at Ditchford GP today. Orangy-pink beak of a Greenland White-front (and pale orangy legs), eyering of a Lesser White-front, proportions of a Greylag🙂🤪

Bird predictions for the coming 2 days of strong Southerlies - Allens Gallinule or Striped Crake, hopefully alive, probably moribund, even more probably found dead. And hopefully some seabirds in Northants🙂🤞

How about spending that money on eradicating artificial grass? Or litter? Or educating themselves on the dire state of nature, and why killing Gulls is just f'king wrong🤬?

Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus). Seen today (12-4) in Long Island, NY. The photo was taken with an 800mm lens from a safe distance. #wildlifephotography #birdphotography #birdwatching #BirdsSeenIn2024 #owls #birdcpp

Turf battle! A local hawk swoops down on a migratory Arctic Snowy Owl along the Chemung River in upstate New York. The cool visitor refused to budge from its wintering grounds in the one minute territorial standoff. (2024-12-10) #TwitterNatureCommunity #BBCWildlifePOTD

And, of course, about 90% of those houses will be 3/4/5 bed properties rather than genuinely affordable 1/2 bed houses, and so the 'need more housing' vicious circle of lies and bullshit continues ad infinitum until we have no nature left...
