Chancellor promised to respond to John Fingleton Nuclear Review at the Budget. Instead she's bottled it. NO commitments at all. Nothing! High energy costs are CRUSHING British industry and living standards. It is URGENT that ALL recommendations MUST be implemented ASAP.

The full written speech is even less clear! Government "accepts the *principle* of all the recommendations". What does that mean? Are they accepting ALL or are they not? Note the "international obligations" - our leaks were right! Stop speaking in vague terms and ACCEPT ALL.

No one is willing to have the fundamental discussion about what we want the state to do. Every year it grows larger, and working people are squeezed to cover the rising cost. We don't need tweaks to thresholds and percentages. We need to start over.
