That afternoon in Bondi Junction, 5 women were killed at the hands of a violent man.

Too often, women don’t feel safe at home, work, or at the shops. The epidemic of men’s violence must stop.

Counting Dead Women have now reported 24 deaths due to violence against women in 2024 alone.

Men’s violence must stop.

I mourn Faraz Tahir, a Pakistani refugee who on his first day of work as a security guard, lost his life protecting the public from the perpetrator.

I mourn every broken family, every life cut short, the community shaken to its core.

This shouldn’t have happened.
