t has been a while since I’ve seen a position this bad: Middle Tennessee State University (Middle Tennessee State University Middle Tennessee Athletics )- Seeking an Athletic Trainer “Intern” that will work 40+ hours a week for…. $13/hour. Let’s unpack that. 1/7 🧵

Jobs like this harm our profession and our early career professionals the most. New grads- there are jobs out there that will pay you twice as much to work less - this “experience” will not benefit you - it only benefits the employer. 7/7

The pursuit of learning, continuing to learn, and critical thinking are paramount to any society. These comments and attacks on continuing education, especially on public education and higher education, are deeply troubling.

Communities that don't fully invest in athletic trainers are putting their kids at risk. Period. . If you can't afford an athletic trainer, you can't afford athletics.

That's at least three states with active bills for cardiac emergency response plans -- Or what to do in response to a heart-related emergency. A cardiac event does happen in schools once every three days. Who will push for the other 3Hs (head, heat, hemoglobin)? #SaferSidelines

"According to the lawsuit, no athletic trainer was there (when Calvin Dickey collapsed) because Bucknell had cut staff after encountering significant cost overruns while building a new athletic facility that was completed earlier in 2024." #SaferSidelines nwitimes.com/sports/college…

If you have enough money to fund a full athletics program (let alone, build a new athletic facility), you have enough money to hire an athletic trainer. ATs should be a non-negotiable in the budget

We are aware that the U.S. Army plans to eliminate AT jobs from its H2F program, despite plans for expansion. Take a stand with your fellow ATs and access our campaign now to urge legislators and support your profession. votervoice.net/mobile/NATA/Ca…

It's July 31. The day NFL player Korey Stringer collapsed on the field from exertional heat stroke. And 24 years after his collapse, we've still got a LONG way to go in heat safety for all athletes, regardless of level or sideline. #SaferSidelines
