& more lovely coincidence. My mum, who trained in institutional & catering management in 1950s Belfast, kept a copy of ESB Archives pamphlet, as Dr Sorcha O'Brien was discussing at our Women's Grassroots Activism Research Network workshop & highlighted by Scéal Heritage Consultancy Donna Gilligan as key to material culture of everyday life.

I am finding some lovely synchronicity between our Women's Grassroots Activism Research Network Arts and Humanities Research Council network & my own family history. After our workshop at National Museum of Ireland on Saturday I was going through some papers of my late mother Margaret & found this copy of Women’s Institutes of NI journal, Sept 1959. ❤️.

Wonderful to hear recording of an interview by ⁦Prof Linda Connolly⁩ with Hilda Tweedy, of the Irish Housewives’ Association, set up in 1942, & to hear Hilda point out that the women’s movement did not spring out of nowhere in the 1970s. How right she was. ⁦Women's Grassroots Activism Research Network
