WRDSB trustee update: Meena Waseem is an excellent candidate in Kitchener. We hadn't been able to find any public info on her positions, but having seen some now, we feel very happy to say she's an excellent pick.

CRT is a theory that asks people to consider how race impacts the work we do. It started in legal studies. My Bill is about doing antiracism work and ensures that if educators are tasked with building inclusive schools, they are given the resources to do so. Hope that helps.

I first met Trustee Meena Waseem at our City of Kitchener #KYAC youth awards. She went on to be Co-prez at Cameron Heights, a Loran Scholars Foundation at Queen's University & spoke at my 2018 inaugural. She's an amazing person & would be a great Waterloo Region DSB trustee. After being prodded (sorry), here are our picks for Cambridge wards and mayoral races. We're excited for Hamilton, Perkes, Braniff, and Reid. The others are more least-worst options. Ward 5 I got nothing.

The US right have brought bills that would prevent gender-affirming care. I wonder how they'll feel when some clever person points out that there's no medical reason for ED meds. They're the definition of gender-affirming care. Think those old men will give them up?

Major congrats to some great candidates. Some of the people we picked came very close, like Schwarze in Wat6, and Wallis in Kit9. And the school board was defended beautifully, with great trustees like Meena Waseem and Maedith Radlein joining stalwarts. So happy tonight!

Asking already overworked nurses to extend their shifts to 16hrs will never ever resolve the nursing crisis. Instead, this will burn down the few nurses left, lead to workplace injuries & medication errors, & negatively affect patient outcomes. Fix the broken system & pay nurses.

Last night I voted to keep the motion on the table because I thought a decision should be made. The community spent time and effort on the motion and deserved an answer. Prolonging the issue only extends the anxieties and fears of those who'll be impacted.

As I see the transphobia spreading like a Covid of the mind, it makes me notice the spread of the idea that being *trans* is the trendy social contagion. Seems to me if there's a social contagion, it's the anti-trans mind virus that's spreading at R0=3.14x10^23.
