Junior doctors call for a 22% pay rise and threaten prospect of industrial action. For ref. Basic pay for a junior dr starts at £29,384 and for year 2 its £34,012. In later years they earn £58,398. Most will earn more for nightshift/weekend and on-call extras.

This is not a pay rise it is pay restoration for our doctors. Just like always our ACP team will be supporting our colleagues and I am sure covering the department if industrial action is needed to make people listen. Royal College of Emergency Medicine Leeds Emergency Departments

I don’t know any department that meets this and this is why staffing is unsafe and nurses are striking. We have 10 resus cubicles, 52 designated spaces, 6 triage & 5 minors cubicles. That’s a minimum of 30 nurses to include priority calls and arrests. #SafeStaffingSavesLives

Great night shift teamwork keeping our patients safe and supporting our junior doctor colleagues. Fabulous support from our medical specialty teams too. Only 1 questionable addition. ACPs on the 2017 curriculum. You will have received an email requesting the completion of a short survey. It is important you complete the survey, even if you do not plan to credential, to ensure enough assessors are available. The link:surveymonkey.co.uk/r/3WXT9JL RCEM ACP Forum
