Y1SBR/AFR- During our PE lesson the children worked as a team to complete different races. The children have received their active travel badge for travelling actively to school during October. In Maths we started our new Maths unit- Numbers within 20.

F2 craft club have had a wonderful evening creating Diwali toast and bonfire breadsticks. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Y6 In music we have been learning to play the recorder. We have learnt to play the notes A and B so far; this is the tune we learnt today.

Year 6BTH thoroughly enjoyed our electrical circuits work, in Science, this week. The children made predictions about circuit diagrams - first, using their reasoning skills to ascertain whether they would work or not - and then produced the circuits to physically test them...

Y6 visited Thorne Memorial Park to lay a wreath this morning as part of our Armistice Day remembrance.

Y6 studied the war memorial in Thorne Park. Many of the children found names they recognised.

Brooke F1 - This week we have been finding, discussing and creating patterns. We have also took part in a variety of Remembrance Day activities. During our forest school session we have been collecting leaves for the compost heap and planting bulbs.

F2RKN had a lovely PE session pretending to go to the seaside. We had some amazing balancing carrying our rather large ice creams!

Y1SBR/AFR- Maths Day- The children have enjoyed doing Maths investigations during Maths Day today. The children watched a video about Albert Einstein then completed different investigations.

Year 6 enjoyed a fantastic visit to Eden Camp, today. It really brought our topic to life, and the children clearly had a great time! This is just a teaser selection from the first iPad; more photos will follow...

Y6 had a great time at Eden Camp on Friday. They loved all the exhibits, especially the Anderson and Morrison shelters.

Year 6 have enjoyed DT week: evaluating ingredients available to rationed WW2 Britain; planning a stew suitable for a WW2 soldier; creating said stews (and baking some accompanying bread); and then trying/evaluating their efforts. Future Bake-Off contestants? You never do know!

UKS2 performed marvellously during their Christmas concert at Thorne Methodist church.
