Deep thanks to Sorcha Dallas Gray for being such a generous guide through the extraordinary collection of arts and things Alastair Gray gifted us.
As well as being a novelist, artist, mural painter and so much more I think I Alasdair Gray had a kind of sociological attentiveness to history, culture and people. Look at what he was reading. Sorcha Dallas Gray

Absolutely love giving talks at Open Day - really proud of staff at UofG Soc & Pol Sci. Always, a privilege to speak in The Humanity Lecture Theatre - as Gramsci wrote humanity is not a point of departure but a destination and an achievement.
In two weeks time: Steven Threadgold presenting on new class formations and financialisation of youth, in person. Brought by Alistair Fraser and co-hosted by UofG Sociology seminars. Thanks to Les Back for chairing. See you there.
This is a totally beautiful thing and really proud to have written this tribute to Jah Shaka with my brother Prof William Lez Henry - I hope the final lines are like Shaka’s siren!!
