On Monday, I presented at the Good Roads Conference on Chiefs of Ontario, focusing on jurisdiction, collaboration with municipalities, and all-season road advancements. I also joined a panel on First Nation-Municipal partnerships, highlighting respect as key to shared prosperity.

I met with Ontario Northern Economic Development and Growth Deputy Minister Susanna Laaksonen-Craig to strengthen relationships with Chiefs of Ontario. We discussed supporting First Nations-led initiatives, advancing partnerships, and collaborating on regulatory changes to promote prosperity.






Niawen Daniele Zanotti, DM Ontario Community and Social Services Discussed the 1965 Indian Welfare Agreement, Ontario's role in First Nations Child and Family Services reform, and the designations of First Nation child welfare agencies. A step forward in relationship building.

On Aug 5, 2025, I met Julien Castonguay GCIndigenous to address challenges with Jordan's Principle. We discussed the backlog caused by a recent bulletin & planned a meeting to find solutions. We're committed to improving support for our children & communities.



Joined inspiring youth from Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre & OFNYPC in a powerful dialogue with Minister GCIndigenous Alty on key issues: Land Back, Food Sovereignty, Housing, Identity, Empowerment & Cultural Spaces. Grateful for these vital conversations.


On August 14, 2025, AFN National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak and I announced that the $23B federal settlement for First Nations Child and Family Services discrimination is now available. Eligible claimants include children removed 1991-2022.
