Many commissioned community rehab beds aren’t providing rehab & recovery services but instead used for ‘warehousing’ after acute stays Meaning ~20k people/year are placed in ‘intermediate care’ beds without rehabilitation Bad for them and bad for the NHS hsj.cdn.wilmingtonplc.com/2024/08/05/exc…
Intermediate care must include provision of rehab for older people. Failure to provide this is inhumane and causes further ill health. We are shocked to read in Health Service Journal that this isn't being routinely provided. bgs.org.uk/Rehab #RighttoRehab
