1/4 DG Abdirizack Mohamed with the technical team of Ministry of Energy and Water Resources Somalia met with a delegation from Norway in Somalia led by Mr. Erling Hess Johnsen, Head of Development Cooperation of the embassy, alongside key partners FAO in Somalia, UN Development & representatives of the office of the UNSOM.
H.E. Minister Jama Taqal Abbas of Ministry of Energy and Water Resources Somalia had a bilateral meeting with the acting UN Resident Coordinator George Conway to discuss the progress of the water sector governance in Somalia and align development priorities with the National Water Resources Strategy. During the discussion, both H.E. Minister Jama Taqal Abbas and George Conway emphasized the importance of collaboration between Ministry of Energy and Water Resources Somalia and UN in Somalia to invest in water resources in Somalia over multiple years, with the aim of breaking the cycle of drought.
