I usually tag Springer Nature to report problematic papers feat. #TorturedPhrases’ or retracted references. Today I'm writing to support those dedicated SN journalists, editors, and integrity staff I've met over the years who *do* care about this pollution x.com/SjorsScheres/s…

The next papermill dataset, from a Telegram channel I found yesterday. From a quick glance there are published papers in IEEE, Springer Nature and Wiley at least. 🧵 figshare.com/articles/media…

A paper on fraud for sale with the title: "Utilizing Advanced technologies to detect fraud in data engineering". Paper to be published in IEEE conferences. Amazed by the title! #papermills

Everything you need to know about German Labor Law. Lamine Yamal, a 17-year-old Spanish football player, was not allowed to play in extra time (if any) during the Euro 2024 final because minors are not allowed to work after 11 pm. Love it!

Somebody used my identity to complain to Elsevier about journals in Scopus and fraudulent Eastern European authors. I have already notified Elsevier that I did not write such letters. Such a practice of identity theft ruins the trust and integrity of investigations.

Exclusive: Kavli prize winner Chad A. Mirkin threatens to sue critic Raphaël Lévy for defamation. In 2018, they clashed at a meeting of the American Chemical Society, where Mirkin called Lévy a “scientific terrorist.” Ellie Kincaid reports Retraction Watch retractionwatch.com/2024/07/16/kav…

Hijacked journals target not only Scopus but Web of Science as well. The expired domain of the journal "Cahiers Magellanes" was registered by some fraudulent publishers. The link in the Master Journal List directs to a hijacked journal. #hijackedjournals

Hijacked journals are still a threat, indeed. Unfortunately, there is no fast and easy solution to solve the problem of #hijackedjournals. nature.com/articles/d4158…

OMG! The websites of publishers are also cloned! Maximillian Publisher has at least 18 cloned websites run by fraudsters. These websites ask for payment during manuscript submission. This issue is so close to the one of #hijackedjournals!

Recently, there has been a growing number of cloned journals from reputable publishers (Wiley, IOP, Elsevier). Now, a Springer Journal of Academic Ethics, has been cloned. This is a new trend, previously, mainly standalone journals were hijacked. Keep observing. #hijackedjournals

Client (Person 1) needs a paper, approaches a paper mill Big Time (Person 2), and concludes a contract. The paper is not published within the defined period of time, and Person 1 sues Person 2. The court decides to deny the claim. Paper mills are lucrative business #papermills

Somebody continues to use my name to alert problematic journals and papers. Now the comment was left on the Scimago website. I've learned about it because the journal contacted me and asked to temporarily delete the comment. Really? What's going on? scimagojr.com/journalsearch.…
