Phoenix Sky Harbor hit 118°F at 3:37 PM this afternoon, which sets a new record hottest temperature for August. Phoenix records date back to 1895. Temperatures are still bouncing between 116-118°F at this time. #azwx

Road west is temporarily closed but can still see some fairly impressive thunderstorms over the Sierra de Juarez west of Mexicali, BC

This is very bad. Winds from 80-90 mph along an outflow boundary and decaying haboob across the Sea of Cortez. The power grid of Puerto Peñasco is being cut very fast. Not a good situation. Nearly zero visibility (after the video was taken). #Sonorawx
