Wonderful to be preaching at morning and evening harvest services today in St Peter’s Church, Formby in the Diocese of Liverpool as a guest of Canon Anne Taylor. Very welcoming congregation, beautiful liturgy and music, with warm hospitality after each service.

This morning I was at St John’s Church in Moyne, Co Wicklow to rededicate the church after considerable refurbishment. It was a lovely occasion as the congregation also made a presentation to Muriel Hobson marking her 40 years of service as a parish reader. @CofIcfo

It was great to have some of the choir from St Fin Barre's Cathedral Cork with us in St Paul’s Church, Cahir for harvest thanksgiving last night. At the service the recently restored organ, as well as hymnals and prayer books, were dedicated as memorial gifts. A full church with wonderful music.

Today, at a service in St Carthage’s Cathedral in Lismore, I licensed and commissioned Ross Barrett for pioneer ministry in that parish. I wish him every blessing as he starts the training course under Rob Jones which will guide and support him in this work. @CofIcfo

With the Mayor of Kilkenny Cllr Andrew McGuinness following the Civic Service in St Canice’s Cathedral today to mark the 700th anniversary of the witch trials in Kilkenny. An opportunity to reflect.

Very interesting lecture and fascinating to hear about the religious and diplomatic links across what is now Europe in the late seventh century.
