Coaching volleyball is literally one of the best things in things in this world. The ability to mentor and disciple young women who have a desire to grow in multiple areas is 😍😍.

Advice for Young Coaches: 23) Be able to relate with people. You should be able to sit down with someone from the city, the suburbs, or a rural area and connect at a high level. Study, embrace & appreciate different cultures and upbringings. Coaching = connecting with people.

I have had so many amazing conversations with recruits over the past few weeks and my favorite thing to ask is “What is your why?” Funny thing is, I love getting asked that question too ❤️🔥🏐. #AllForHisGlory

Recruiting Pro Tip: We are collegiate coaches; we can identify the libero. We can identify the setter. We can identify you after one clip. You do not need to pause the video between every clip to circle yourself, add an arrow, or have flames surrounding you. We know who you are

This is so true. Same concept I tell my teenage daughters…”if someone is negative and ripping on their ‘friends’ behind their back to you, guess what they are doing when you have your back turned?” Choose who you surround yourself with wisely.

You have to learn who & what to say NO to. It is your right to choose what you do & don’t do, what to believe & what not to believe. You decide who to be around & who to avoid. Don’t ever compromise to please others. If they don’t accept your choices, then they don’t accept you!

🚨thought: I'm going to be honest, one of my KEY aspects when picking a school is a genuine environment. Yes the vball is important but if that <vibe> isn't there, it's just not happening. I don't just want a -school-, I want the school that gives me ALL the ~feels~ just saying

After being in college athletics as a coach & player one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that YOU, yes YOU are responsible for your own growth and success. Yeah, people will help you along the way but ultimately it’s on YOU.

Jon Beck (@coachjonbeck) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Knowing your players first is the most important step. Coaching isn’t ever easy. Kids aren’t easy either, but coaches who invest in their players’ lives, in their futures & in putting kids first usually have players who are much easier to coach. Love them first, then coach them!

As an athlete, always root for your teammates’ success. Don't be the guy who secretly hopes their teammates fail. Being a true friend to your teammates will make you happier and more successful in the long run.

No matter how good things are, adversity is a certainty. Failure is inevitable, but it’s where all the learning is (losing, lack of playing time, injury, poor performance). Stay strong, lean on each other, never stop working. Successful people fail much more than they succeed!

PLAYERS: If you want to have a GREAT TEAM, then you need to figure out how you can positively impact your team! This isn't just when you're playing, but when you're on the bench, in the locker room, in training sessions, on road trips, in the weight room, or in the classroom!!

Hey parents! I don’t want to talk to you. I want to talk to your kid. Your feedback does not influence me as much as your kid’s does. You DO play a role in this process, but not when talking about/through your kid. We have more success w/players who own their own process! Thanks
