I thought it appropriate to post this photo on the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. This is the main altarpiece of the Cathedral of Nuestra Senora Dolorosa in Manacor in Mallorca. If you ever get the chance to see it, go. It's hauntingly beautiful.

Something which really resonated with me at Adoremus yesterday. Centuries ago the church had a beautiful monstrance which in a time of conflict disappeared. Centuries later, in the Victorian era, a man recognized the monstrance in a jewellers shop. It had been made into a clock.

Every Christian must stand against euthanasia which is wrapped up in gentle language by the media and made to sound compassionate. People will abuse it, the state will have a financial incentive to push it, vulnerable people will opt for it due to low self esteem. It’s wicked.

Every time you leave your place of comfort and enter into the suffering of another, you are living and loving as God. A healing touch to the least, is a healing touch to the Highest.

This little girl put on a "mask of happiness" for everyone else's comfort. Supporting survivors means not obligating them to wear this mask. If they need to let their suffering show, then this is where they are. Myself and countless others have worn this mask for far too long
