In 2023 USC was 6-0 yet dropped in the polls after each win for the first time in history before being blown out by Notre Dame 48-20, then lost 4 of their last 5. Bringing this up for no reason in particular.

Building your entire team around trying to run the ball on the 3-3-5 and beat one team, and forsaking any passing game whatsoever, might win you a few FCS rivalry games, but it seems like it is not the correct strategy in the FBS. I dunno. Jury still out. 🤷‍♂️
