Our intrepid volunteers on the Og carrying out balsam bashing. If you've got this plant in your garden, particularly if you are close to a river please do pull it up, break it up and leaving it away from the river to rot down before it gets to developing seed pods. #balsambash

Vapes are an environmental catastrophe, today the sale & supply single use vapes is illegal. We & many others, including Laura Young have campaigned for this. We've seen first hand this new pollution source appear on the riverbeds of our chalk streams. #singleusevapes

One of the easiest things we can do to reduce river pollution is to stop using spot-on flea treatments on dogs that play in water. I've a short-haired dog and I've only ever treated him for fleas twice in 10 years, when we could see that he had them. Only treat them when you must

Spotted and filmed on the Kennet this week by River Keeper Jimmy at The Wilderness, Kintbury. Thank you for sharing. Overhanging branches are what kingfisher require for resting and for perching to observe and then dive for fish. #chalkstream

This week we've worked with 150 Yr 10 students running hands on sessions in the Kennet at 2 sites for them to carry out their GCSE Geography fieldwork. Great for the school to stay local and the students to gain a better understanding of their local environment. #chalkstream
