Wonderful to return to Lithuania for all eight hours for today's marathon of events marking the 20th anniversary of Lithuania's EU membership. And to meet in Vilnius many friends, colleagues, fellows who have also lost their minds over Europe. 🇱🇹🇪🇺

Two former bosses, two legends, two mentors. Thank you for everything, Presidents Jerzy Buzek and Pat Cox! Reunited today in Strasbourg celebrating 20th anniversary of 2004 🇪🇺enlargement, which broke walls, gave Europe both lungs and brought promise of freedom & prosperity to us.

Farewell meeting with Lithuanian MEPs during last European Parliament plenary session in Strasbourg before European elections. A good chance to thank for the great cooperation, to discuss key challenges & achievements during the last five years and to ponder on EU’s future agenda. 🇱🇹🇪🇺

The 💬 discussion focused on the history of the #EU 🇪🇺, its strengths and current challenges.

From the security situation to climate change, the students shared topics that are important to them.

On this sunny day in Brussels, Ambassador Arnoldas Pranckevičius visited the #Lithuania n section of the European School of Brussels II, where he had the opportunity to give a lesson to the 10th graders (S5 level) on the EU 🇪🇺 and the 20th anniversary of #Lithuania 's 🇱🇹 EU membership.

According to the latest #Eurobarometer , Lithuanians remain steadfast in their support for the #EU , with more than 90% acknowledging the benefits of being an EU member state!

The marathon of events marking 🇱🇹 Lithuania’s 20th anniversary of 🇪🇺EU membership starts! A great discussion this afternoon alongside first LT PermRep back in 2004 and former EC Director General Rytis Martikonis with Lithuanians working European Parliament in Brussels and Luxembourg.

Happy to meet 🇳🇿New Zealand’s Ambassador to the EU & NATO Simon J Draper and a chance to thank for all #NZ support for 🇺🇦 #Ukraine and to celebrate the entry into force on 1 May of #FTA with the 🇪🇺 #EU . 🇱🇹 #Lithuania is a great supporter of boosting ties with Indo-Pacific partners.

🇪🇺European Council over. Dedicated to economy & Single Market, but also delivering strong language on #airdefence for 🇺🇦Ukraine, taking on board 🇱🇹Lithuania-led proposals on sanctions on #Iran drones & missiles and further import tariffs on Russian & Belarusian agrifood products.
