The ppl around Starmer go on about how 'ruthless' he is. Ruthlessness in politics often causes disaster. But now we also see what else it leads to: two women of colour who've come further & worked harder for Labour than any central-casting apparatchik being thrown under the bus

Labour is busy purging women of colour while dropping the likes of Luke Akehurst into safe seats.

There's not a chance I'll be voting for an authoritarian right wing party like this.

Now that Parliament is dissolved lets recognize the incredible contribution Caroline Lucas has made over the past 14 years. During that time, she has won numerous awards for her fantastic work representing her constituents and providing a crucial voice to millions of voters.

But are media is a) institutionally racist and b) largely dominated by white journalists who aren't remotely interested.

The Labour party's behaviour, exhibiting lack of transparency and indeed decency towards its own candidates, really does not bode down well for how they plan to run the country. They also seem to be requiring a degree of allegiance and conformity that is frankly rather worrying.

Victoria Derbyshire said no one from Labour’s top team would appear on Newsnight tonight, not for the want of the programme trying.

This bodes well for a government in waiting - shunning scrutiny.

The way Faiza Shaheen has been treated here is disgusting.

I chaired the hustings when Carla Denyer was initially selected as Bristol West (now Central) candidate. It was Carla and two other great women. Green Party members asked questions. All members could read candidate statements and vote in an online secret ballot. Party democracy.
