4.3 million children in the UK are now in poverty, and the massive rises we've seen over the last few years aren't normal – we've had the highest child poverty increase in the OECD and EU by a huge margin. And child poverty wasn't normal in the UK until our inequality spiked.

🚨 More than 3.1 MILLION emergency food parcels were provided by food banks in our network last year. This is the highest number of parcels our network has ever distributed in a year. It’s 2024. It’s not right that people are having to turn to food banks just to survive.

Yesterday @TrussellTrust announced they'd given out over 3.1million food parcels, breaking 3m for the first time. Since 2010, we've seen hunger & billionaire wealth skyrocket at the same time. As we wait for Rich List 24, we have to recognise that something has gone deeply wrong.

Yesterday afternoon we hosted a joint meeting with the APPG on Poverty and Inequality that explored how to build on the foundations of the Household Support Fund and put in place a more effective system of local crisis and resilience support in England.
