More than 200 fed-up The Associated Press employees who work hard to make the AP the sterling news information service it is sent emails to Scrooge-like top managers to tell them RTFW. Inflation has been 19% since our last contract, offering us 2% raises in return is bad math. Julie Pace

19%! That's how much we've seen the buying power of our pay cut since January 2020. Yet The Associated Press management thinks its “landmark” offer of a $2,000 bonus mitigates the effects of inflation. Today, Guild members sent managers this letter calling for a #FairContract.

We were insulted by The Associated Press's first offer — a 2% raise over 3 years. We have a new offer, and we're no less frustrated: it includes at most a 2.5% raise and a $2,000 check. We can't be bought with a bonus. We demand a fair wage. More than 200 of us told our managers this today.
