We have been busy with some updates to the Twitter API so you can continue to build and innovate with us.

We’re excited to announce an extension of the current free Twitter API access through February 13. Here’s what we’re shipping then 🧵

Starting February 9, we will no longer support free access to the Twitter API, both v2 and v1.1. A paid basic tier will be available instead 🧵

Twitter is enforcing its long-standing API rules. That may result in some apps not working.

🙌 Thanks to our developer community, we learned of a small bug for edited Tweet metadata on the Twitter API v2.

We’ve updated edits_remaining to return an integer, as intended and indicated in our docs/Open API spec. The Twitter API v1.1 returns an integer and is unchanged.

Today, we made edited Tweet metadata available on the Twitter API v2.

Today, we’re deprecating Twitter Developer Labs and all of the remaining Labs endpoints, which will retire on October 31, 2022:
- The Labs Tweets and Users endpoints
- The COVID-19 stream

Today, 10 new v2 filtering operators are now available to all developers building with the filtered stream endpoints, and another 10 are now more widely available.
