#Alzheimers disease and other forms of #dementia do, in fact, change many things. But sometimes, we misperceive or myopically concentrate only on decline. As much as possible, we need to focus more on all that our loved ones retain rather than only on what they may have lost.

No one builds new venues or stations that able-bodied folk are unable to enter. So why is it that accessibility isn’t embedded at pre planning stage - & why is permission given to any new build or retrofitting that doesn’t welcome people with disabilities? Please sign & share

It could just be a very small simple thing such as a red top or a blue one but that choice is and always will be priority for me. If the person is unable to verbally respond I work to create other ways (I have a chap who 👍🏻/👎🏻)

Especially in the early stages, a person living with #Alzheimers disease or another form of #dementia may not need your #caregiving, but they will need your support. Rather than treating them as dependent, empower them to get the most from their own abilities. #quote #kindness
